To submit the financial statements for the three - month periods ended December 31, 2004 with a clarification

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited has submitted the financial statements for the three - month periods ended December 31, 2004 which were reviewed by the Office of the Auditor General.           

The operating result for the three - month periods ended December 31, 2004 of the Company appears a net profit of Baht 5,717 million, an increase of Baht 1,467 million compared to the same period last year. This mainly caused by the increase in revenues from the sale of goods and the rendering of services amount of Baht 4,808 million or 12.56% compared to the same periods last year due to the increase in frequency of flights to Milan, Nagoya, Guanzhou, Chengdu, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalor, and Lahore. At the same time, selling and administrative expenses increase amount of Baht 5,848 million or 18.98% from last year effected by the higher price of jet fuel. As a result, the fuel expenses increase by Baht 4,796 million or 74.53%. However, the Company incurs a gain on foreign currency exchange amount of Baht 2,055 million in this period due to the stronger Baht, compared to a loss on foreign currency exchange of Baht 409 million at the same period last year.
