9 April 2008, at the Conference Hall, Army Club, Mr. Suparat Kawatkul, 1 st Vice Chairman (Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors), Thai Airways International Public Company Limited, presided over the company’s 2 nd Annual General Shareholders’ Meeting 2007, with the attendance of THAI’s Board of Directors, Management, and shareholders, whereby the following issues were discussed:
1. 2 nd Financial Results 2007
At THAI’s Annual General Shareholders’ Meeting, it was reported that during the fiscal period 1 October 2007 – 31 December 2007, the company achieved a total revenues from the sale of goods and the rendering of services of 53,493 million baht, an increase from the same period last year of 5,120 million baht or 10.6 percent. The company also had operating expenses at a total of 49,769 million baht, an increase from the same period last year of 6,837 million baht or 15.9 percent. This amounted to a profit from the sale of goods and the rendering of services of 3,724 million baht. The company had a profit before tax of 2,696 million baht, which amounts to the company’s net profit of 1,839 million baht at an earnings per share of 1.08 baht per share.
2. Distribution of Dividend
THAI’s Annual General Shareholders’ Meeting approved the distribution of dividend for 2 nd fiscal year 2007 (Fiscal Period 1 Oct.-31 Dec. 2007) to shareholders at 1,698,900,950 shares at 0.45 baht per share at a total of 764,505,428 baht. The payment of dividend will be made to shareholders with names registered in the shareholders’ registration book on Wednesday, 23 April 2008 at 12.00 hrs. with dividend payment scheduled to take effect on Friday, 9 May 2008.
3. Appointment of New Members of the Board of Directors
THAI’s Annual General Shareholders’ Meeting approved the appointment of the Board of Directors, replacing Board Members who resigned.

The appointment of THAI’s Board of Directors takes effect on 9 April 2008 onwards. Attending THAI’s Annual General Shareholders Meeting were 1,533 shareholders, representing 1,416,153,567 shares.
Furthermore, during the past 3 months (1 Oct. – 31 Dec. 2007), the company received the following awards:
- Received the Best Southeast Asian Airline at the 18 th TTG Travel Award 2007.
- Received The Best Travel Brands 2007 award as a leading air carrier and received 3 rd place for best inflight service, based on the results of a survey conducted on http://www.smarttravelasia.com website, which is a travel website with an Asian, European, and American readership of over 2,000 people, including those who contributed to the ranking.
- Received Telly Awards 2007 in the category of inflight entertainment supporting popular tourist destinations, the video presentation entitled “Sawasdee Thailand ” (Best Travel and Tourism Video – “Sawasdee Thailand ”) from competition that was held for the 28 th time in the year 2007. Over 14,000 applications were submitted from various countries from 5 countries worldwide.
- Received the best State Enterprise Award, in the area of praise, for the company’s operations conducted for the benefit of the community and environment, organized by the Office of Policy Establishment Committee for State Enterprises, Finance Ministry (3 rd time). |
