Day 1:
|

Bangkok-Ampawa, Wat Bang Kung , Baan Benjarong Start with a visit to Wat Bang Kung, a 200 year old temple embraced by the roots of a Banyan tree; then it’s off to see the artisans at Baan Benjarong making the kingdom’s famous chinaware, After lunch, explore the canals by longtail boat traveling through fruit plantations and past villages of wooden houses built on stills. Finally unwind at Baan Ampawa Resort&Spa before dinner. (L,D)

Day 2:

Ampawa-Damnoen Saduak Floating Market –Kanchanaburi
After an early breakfast, travel by boat to the lively, colourful floating market at Damnoen Saduak before heading to the Hin Tok River Camp in Kanchanaburi province for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Hellfire Pass Memorial, dedicated to those who died during the construction of the Burma-Thailand railway in World War II. A walk along the embankment of the former railway will give you some idea of the hardships endured. Back at Camp you can relax or take a bicycle to a nearby village well known for weaving large bamboo baskets. (B,L,D)

Day 3:

Kanchanaburi-Bangkok
If you’re an early riser you can cycle to a nearby temple to offer food to the monks. After breakfast , it’s into a canoe for leisurely paddle down the Kwai Noi River (the less adventurous can go by longtail boat.) After lunch climb aboard the train for a trip on the infamous "Death Railway" from Wang Po to Takilen. Then it’s on to the equally infamous Bridge over the River Kwai and the War Cemetery before heading back to Bangkok. (B,L)
