If you’re ever wanted to explore Vietnam then this is the tour for you. As you travel from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh, you’ll experience first-hand the many faces of this vibrant, exciting and beautiful country.

Itinerary

Day 1:

Hanoi
After arrival at Hanoi International Airport, you’ll travel by coach to your hotel, where you’ll have the rest of the day to spend at your leisure.

 

Day 2:

Hanoi – Halong
Your tour of Hanoi begins with a visit to Ho Chi Minh’s former residence and mausoleum, the One Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature. After checking out of the hotel, you’ll take a cyclo ride through the old quarter, passing the Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple, before stopping for lunch. From there it’s a coach ride to Halong Bay, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Area for its natural beauty. Known by the locals as “Dragon descending to the sea”, the bay is famed for its more than 1,500 limestone islets rising from the crystal waters. (B, L)

 

Day 3:

Halong – Hanoi
After breakfast you’ll take a five-hour boat trip to explore the wonderful Halong Bay. As well as cruising the many islands, there’ll be plenty of time for you to relax and swim in the clear waters before enjoying a delicious seafood lunch cooked on deck. Back in Hanoi spend the evening watching a traditional water puppet show. (B, L)

 

Day 4:

Hanoi - Danang - Hoi An
After spending the morning exploring Hanoi at your leisure, your tour continues with the flight to Danang in the early afternoon. Once there it’s a short drive to Hoi An, a major trading centre, which dates back to the 16th century. A walking tour gives you a great insight into this historic town, with its rich Chinese influences and stunning architectural treasures. Round off the day with a delicious dinner in a local restaurant. (B, D)

 

Day 5:

Hoi An – Danang – Hue
After spending the morning at your leisure, you’ll take a boat ride for an early lunch before heading onwards to Hue. The journey to the former imperial capital takes you past the Marble Mountains and over the stunning Hai Van Pass to this charming city on the banks of the Perfume River. In the afternoon you’ll travel by dragon boat to visit Thien Mu Pagoda, after which the evening is yours to spend as you please. (B, L)

 

Day 6:

Hue – Ho Chi Minh
Enjoy a morning of culture as you visit the Imperial Citadel and the tomb of Emperor Tu Doc. After lunch, it’s off to the vibrant Dong Ba market for shopping, before catching your onward flight to Ho Chi Minh where you’ll have the rest of the day to spend as you please. (B, D)

 

Day 7:

Ho Chi Minh – Cu Chi – Ho Chi Minh
After breakfast, drive to Cu Chi district to visit the amazing complex of underground tunnels created in the Vietnam War. You’ll even have the chance to crawl along a section of tunnel for yourself. Return to Ho Chi Minh for lunch before spending the afternoon on a walking tour of the city’s famed attractions, including the Opera House and Ben Thanh Market. (B, L)

 

Day 8:

Ho Chi Minh
You’ll have a little more time to explore after breakfast before being transferred to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
