Day 1:

Kathmandu – Paro
Fly from Kathmandu to Paro and enjoy a breathtaking drive through a picturesque valley to your hotel situated on a pine-scented hillside. After refreshments you’ll have time to explore the small town. (D)

Day 2:
|
|
Paro – Thimpu
Spend the morning visiting the fort from which the Bhutanese repelled Tibetan raiders, and in the afternoon tour the National Museum, which is housed in an ancient watchtower. In the evening, a drive through the Thimpu valley takes you to the capital of Bhutan. (D)

Day 3:
|
|
Thimpu – Paro
Spend the morning viewing ancient Buddhist manuscripts and discover centuries-old healing arts. After lunch you’ll visit the Tashichho Dzong (fortress of the glorious reign), which was built without using plans or even nails. (B, L, D)

Day 4:
|
|
Thimpu – Punakha – Paro
Drive to Punakha and tour the forts of Punakha Dzong and Wangdiphodrang Dzong. Then travel on to Paro through the Dochula Pass, which offers great views of the Bhutanese mountains. (B, L, D)

Day 5:
|
|
Paro – Kathmandu
Enjoy an early breakfast before flying back to Kathmandu. (B)
