Once you have purchased the ticket on THAI on which you plan to use your upgrade, simply contact THAI reservations world-wide who will be pleased to upgrade your travel itinerary to the next class of service. Your ticket must be validated for upgraded travel and paper tickets must be presented at a THAI city ticketing office, while if your travel is e-ticketed simply call the ticketing office.
If you are a very frequent flying Gold member, a second upgrade can be requested on accruing 50,000 Qualifying Miles or completing 40 international sectors on THAI, within the next complete calendar year after Gold status is attained or retained.+

Gold upgrades are valid on THAI operated flights only, are non-transferable and are subject to aircraft configuration. On flights between Bangkok and Scandinavia, upgrades are from Economy Class to Premium Economy Class, and from Premium Economy Class to Royal Silk Class.
Upgrades may be subject to premium class surcharges in some countries.

Guaranteed Seating
If your preferred international THAI flight is fully booked, seating is guaranteed in Economy Class provided that your reservation has been made no less than 72 hours prior to departure, the flight has waitlisting availability, and the paid fare is in one of the following booking classes
- Economy Class Y,B,M
- Premium Economy Class U
- Royal Silk Class D,C,J
- Royal First Class A,F
If your paid fare is for travel in Premium Economy Class, Royal Silk Class or Royal First Class and your seat cannot be confirmed, every effort will be made to do so before seating is confirmed in Economy Class.
