Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) operates normal flights to Fukuoka, Japan and waives fees for ticketing changes.

 

Due to the earthquake at Kyushu Island, Japan, causing destruction and difficulty for THAI passengers traveling to and from Fukuoka, THAI is waiving fees for ticket changes during this period. Fees are waived for passengers holding THAI tickets issued from Thailand before 15 April 2016 for the round trip route Bangkok-Fukuoka-Bangkok, including THAI domestic tickets that are part of the Bangkok-Fukuoka-Bangkok itinerary.

 

1. Fees are waived for passengers who have already used part of their tickets, but are not able to return on the pre-booked flight. Passengers may change the date of their return flight in the same class of service. However, the return date must be before the expiry date of the ticket.

2. Fees are waived for passengers holding the complete unused ticket itinerary with travel date booked within 30 April 2016. Passengers may change the travel date one (1) time for the same class of travel and follow the same conditions as specified on the tickets.

3. Passengers requiring route change may change to Tokyo, Osaka, or Nagoya with no fees applied. However, passengers must pay the difference in ticket fares and associated taxes.

Baggage Policy (General Service) for Thai Airways International Public Company Ltd.

General Information

Baggage Allowance determination and excess baggage charges calculation apply to baggage to be through checked from the point of departure to the point of arrival without stopover at any of the intermediate points. If passenger takes a stopover at an intermediate point, a new assessment of baggage allowance and baggage charges, if applicable, will be measured from the point of departure following the stopover.

Application to Thai Airways International Public Company Ltd.

Passengers may carry free of charge baggage as specified and subject to the conditions and limitations in THAI Regulations.

The weight allowance has been introduced by THAI for a journey:

  • Wholly within Thailand Domestic sectors,
  • A journey within TC3 (Asia, Australia, New Zealand) and a journey between TC2 (Europe, Africa, Middle East) and TC3 (Asia, Australia, New Zealand)
  • To/From the USA and Canada; The Piece Concept used to apply for a journey.

Excess Baggage Charges applicable to Purely Domestic Sectors

All excess baggage must be assessed and charged before the passenger boards the aircraft. Baggage checked in addition to the traveler's baggage allowance. Checked baggage allowance may vary depending on cabin, status level, military status, itinerary and date of purchase. Baggage carried in excess of the free baggage allowance is charged as follows, irrespective of the class paid for and used by the passenger.

  • 1. The above "Domestic Excess Baggage Charge Table" is effective for a checked portion of travel On/After 23JUL12 until further notice.
  • 2. Excess Baggage Charge rate is per kilogram in THB (Thai Baht).
  • 3. The Excess Baggage Charge per kilogram for any additional THAI Domestic services is 1.5 percent of the highest normal direct one way economy class fare.

Note:

  • 1. When a passenger is involuntarily rerouted to a lower class of service, the higher class baggage allowance shall be applied even though the refund for the fare difference is made.
  • 2. The exemption from extra baggage shall be applied to any passengers who traveling on the conditions agreed by THAI and Government sector.
      The exemption shall be applied according to the condition on the passenger's ticket only. By government order or agreement, certain passenger categories may have a free baggage allowance deviating from the regular system. Such amended free baggage allowance is stated in the passenger's ticket.
  • 3. The condition on the 2nd note is applicable to passengers traveling from Thailand only. For other areas/countries, follow the rules applied by the national carriers concerned.
  • 4. In case of travel on combined services for through journeys where the passenger travels partly on F-class and partly on C-, U-, or Y-class, the free baggage allowance applicable on each sector of the trip shall be that applicable to the class of service for which the fare is paid.
      In case the passenger who has paid F-class fare travels on C-, U- or Y-class, the free baggage allowance shall be that applicable to F-class.
  • 5. Foldable stroller can be loaded in compartment without additional charge.

Note:

  • Royal First Class and Royal Silk Class passengers receive a free baggage allowance of two pieces. The weight of each piece shall not exceed 32 kgs (70 lbs) and linear measurement (length + width + height) shall not exceed 158 cms (62 inches).
  • Passengers traveling on economy class are given a free baggage allowance of two pieces. The weight of each item shall not exceed 23 kgs (50 lbs) and linear measurement of each piece shall not exceed 158 linear cms (62 inches).
  • Royal Orchid Plus (ROP) Gold Card members and Royal Orchid Platinum members will enjoy the privilege of one extra baggage on top of the regular allowance in any class of travel. The applicable privilege will be utilized along with the frequent flyer status to only those tickets that are wholly online or involved interline transportation with other carriers who agreed to the applicable of the bonus.

Carry-on Items

In addition to the checked baggage allowance, each passenger is allowed to hand carry one baggage at maximum length 56 cm (22 inches), width 45 cm (18 inches), thickness 25 cm (10 inches). These dimensions include wheels, handles, and side pockets. Total weight of the carry-on baggage must not exceed seven kg (15 lb).Passengers are required to place the baggage in the overhead compartment or under the seat in front of them.
