    Ministry of Transport and THAI Bid Farewell to Chinese Cave Divers

    Mr. Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, Minister of Transport, together with Mr. Weerasak Kowsurat, Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, Deputy Transport Minister, Mr. Chatchai Thipsunawee, Transport Ministry Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Manusnunt Sitthijirasin, Managing Director, Ground Customer Services, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), thanked the cave rescue experts from Beijing Peaceland Foundation, China for successful rescue efforts. The cave rescue experts from Beijing Peaceland Foundation, China were bid farewell upon departure to Beijing and Changsha in China on THAI and THAI Smile flights.

    THAI provided roundtrip tickets from Bangkok-Beijing to six Chinese cave rescue experts from the Beijing Peaceland Foundation, China and THAI Smile provided roundtrip tickets from Bangkok-Changsha to six Chinese cave rescue experts, which included transport of rescue equipment. Six Chinese cave rescue experts were part of the rescue team who helped to search and find 13 members of a youth football team who were trapped inside the Kun Nam Nang Non Cave in Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai province.

    THAI and THAI Smile are thankful to all officials, civilians, volunteers, and rescuers from Thailand and abroad who participated in the search and rescued the youth football players and their coach from Kun Nam Nang Non Cave. THAI and THAI Smile will facilitate air tickets to the rescuers for their return home and coordinated with government organizations to present air tickets to those involved in the rescue mission.
