Star Alliance Mileage Earning Terms for Royal Orchid Plus Members

Mileage accrual under Royal Orchid Plus is based on the paid booking class code of the flight operated by the relevant Star Alliance member airline.

 

For Operating Star Alliance Flights

  • Tickets typically display a two-character airline code followed by a 2- or 3-digit flight number.
  • You may purchase tickets directly from the airline, travel websites or travel agents.

 

For Codeshare Flights

  • Codeshare flights between Star Alliance member airlines may also earn miles based on the paid booking class, subject to applicable terms.
  • Tickets typically display a two-character airline code followed by a 4-digit flight number.
  • You may purchase tickets from the marketing carrier, travel websites, or travel agents.

 

Additional Notes on Mileage Accrual

  • Discounted fares in both cases may earn reduced mileage or may not be eligible for mileage accrual.
  • Codeshare flights purchased from the marketing carrier but operated by another Star Alliance member airline may not be eligible for mileage accrual.
  • Mileage accrual is calculated based on the booking class determined by the operating carrier only, which may differ from the booking class shown at the time of purchase from the marketing carrier.

 

Tickets Not Eligible for Mileage Accrual

  • Award travel tickets (generally booking class O / I / X)
  • Travel industry discounted tickets (generally booking class ID or AD)
