On 26 May 2020, pursuant to Chapter III/I of the Bankruptcy Act B.E. 2483 (1940), Thai Airways International Public Company Limited filed a petition for a business reorganisation (Thai Reorganisation Proceeding) at the Central Bankruptcy Court of Thailand.
On 22 June 2020, an application was filed under the Cross-Border Insolvency Act 2008 (Cth) in the Federal Court of Australia for the Thai Reorganisation Proceeding to be recognised in Australia, among other relief (the Application).
The Application was listed before her Honour Justice Markovic on 23 June 2020. At this hearing Justice Markovic made interim orders (subsequently varied) and also fixed the final hearing date of the Application for 10:15am (AEST) on 3 August 2020 at Queens Square, 184 Philip Street, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia.
