Mr. Nond Kalinta, Vice President of Sales, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), said that cancellation of THAI roundtrip flights from Bangkok-Lahore and Bangkok-Islamabad has been extended from 30 June 2019 until 15 July 2019, due to partial opening of Pakistani airspace and restrictions on some routes. To facilitate THAI passengers travelling to Lahore and Islamabad, THAI has issued a ticket change waiver for those who reroute travel to Karachi. THAI continues to fly roundtrip from Bangkok-Karachi via Oman airspace, with changes of aircraft type and in flight schedule, effective today until 15 July 2019. Details are as follows:
- Flight TG341 from Bangkok-Karachi departs from Bangkok at 19.35 hours and arrives in Karachi at 22.55 hours (local time)
- Flight TG342 from Karachi-Bangkok departs from Karachi at 00.10 hours (local time) and arrives in Bangkok at 07.10 hours
- Flight TG507 from Bangkok-Karachi-Muscat departs from Bangkok at 14.10 hours, arrives in Karachi at 17.30 hours (local time), departs from Karachi at 18.30 hours (local time), and arrives in Muscat at 19.20 hours (local time)

For passenger convenience, THAI has waived the ticket change fee for passengers rerouting flights to Karachi. THAI’s roundtrip flights from Bangkok-Karachi via Oman airspace remain in service for passengers who need to travel to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Aircraft type will be changed to accommodate more passengers, with flight schedule change as follows:

THAI Adjusts Flight Schedule on Bangkok-Karachi Flights as Oman has Closed Airspace Between Pakistan and Mumbai, India

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) has changed its flight schedule for roundtrip flights from Bangkok-Karachi, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, with a change to larger aircraft due to Oman airspace closure between Pakistan and Mumbai, Republic of India during 6-11 March 2019 from 21.00 to 07.00 hours (Oman local time).
Flight Lieutenant Pratana Patanasiri, THAI Vice President, Aviation Safety, Security, and Standards Department, said that as Pakistani airspace has partially reopened with limitations to flight routes into each destination, THAI will operate from Bangkok-Karachi via Oman airspace during 6-11 March 2019. Oman has announced that its airspace will be closed between Pakistan and Mumbai, Republic of India, from 21.00 to 07.00 hours (local time).
Therefore, THAI has adjusted its roundtrip flight schedule on the route Bangkok-Karachi, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and changed the aircraft type from Airbus A330-300 to Boeing 747-400, which is larger and can carry more passengers at a roundtrip total of 750 people. Details are as follows:
- Flight TG341 on 8, 9, and 11 March 2019 from Bangkok-Karachi that regularly departs from Bangkok at 18.50 hours and arrives in Karachi at 22.25 hours (local time) has been changed to flight TG3419 on 9, 10, and 12 March 2019 from Bangkok-Karachi which departs from Bangkok at 07.01 hours and is expected to arrive in Karachi at 11.30 hours (local time).
- Flight TG342 on 9, 10, and 12 March 2019 from Karachi-Bangkok that regularly departs from Karachi at 23.35 hours (local time) and arrives in Bangkok at 06.10 hours has been changed to flight TG3429 on 9, 10, and 12 March 2019 from Karachi-Bangkok which departs from Karachi at 12.30 hours (local time) and is expected to arrive in Bangkok at 22.05 hours.
Flight TG507 from Bangkok-Karachi-Muscat and flight TG508 from Muscat-Karachi-Bangkok operates as regularly scheduled but has been adjusted for 10 March 2019 from the original schedule, as follows:
- Flight TG507 from Bangkok-Karachi-Muscat, which regularly departs from Bangkok at 14.10 hours and arrives in Karachi at 17.45 hours (local time) and departs from Karachi at 18.45 hours (local time), with arrival in Muscat at 19.35 hours (local time), has changed to depart from Bangkok at 14.10 hours and arrive in Karachi at 19.00 hours (local time) and depart from Karachi at 20.00 hours (local time), with arrival in Muscat at 20.50 hours (local time).

THAI Resumes Normal Flights to KarachiTH

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) has resumed operating normal flights to Karachi, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, via Oman airspace.
Mr. Sumeth Damrongchaitham, THAI President, said in reference to the sudden closure of Pakistani airspace on 27 February 2019 whereby the Company had to cancel flights, presently Pakistani airspace has resumed partial operations but with limitations to flight routes into each destination. Therefore, THAI’s roundtrip flights from Bangkok-Lahore and Bangkok-Islamabad remain cancelled. THAI is only operating roundtrip flights to Bangkok-Karachi with flights operated through Oman airspace into Karachi. THAI will transport passengers to Karachi, Islamic Republic of Pakistan by operating regularly scheduled flights and special flights, as follows:
1. Regular flights will operate on 4 March 2019, operated with Airbus A330-300 aircraft, with capacity to carry a total of 598 passengers per roundtrip flight.
-Flight TG341 from Bangkok-Karachi departs from Bangkok at 18.50 hours and is expected to arrive in Karachi at 00.00 hours (local time).
-Flight TG342 from Karachi-Bangkok departs from Karachi on 5 March 2019 at 01.10 hours (local time) and is expected to arrive in Bangkok at 09.30 hours.
2.An additional two special flights will be operated for two days with Boeing 777-200 ER aircraft, with capacity to carry a total of 1,168 passengers per roundtrip flight.
On 4 March 2019:
-Flight TG3419 from Bangkok-Karachi departs from Bangkok at 20.00 hours and is expected to arrive in Karachi at 01.10 hours (local time).
-Flight TG3429 from Karachi-Bangkok departs from Karachi on 5 March 2019 at 02.20 hours (local time) and is expected to arrive in Bangkok at 10.40 hours.
On 5 March 2019:
-Flight TG3419 from Bangkok-Karachi departs from Bangkok at 10.00 hours and is expected to arrive in Karachi at 14.55 hours (local time).

THAI Completes Transporting Stranded Passengers to Europe

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) transported all stranded passengers to Europe completely today.
Mr. Sumeth Damrongchaitham, THAI President, said that today THAI completed transporting stranded passengers who affected from a sudden closure of Pakistani airspace on the last few days by upsizing aircraft to a larger capacity one, details as follows:
- Flights TG916 and TG917 on the Bangkok-London route, aircraft was upsized from Boeing 777-300ER to Airbus A380-800, which carried 1,014 passengers.
- Flights TG952 and TG953 on the Bangkok-Copenhagen route, aircraft was upsized from Boeing 777-200ER to Boeing 777-300ER, which carried 696 passengers.
- Flights TG936 and TG937 on the Bangkok-Vienna route, aircraft was upsized from Boeing 787-8 to Boeing 787-9, which carried 596 passengers.
THAI operates flights to three destinations in Pakistan which are Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Even though Pakistani airspace is opened but with some restrictions in some points that THAI is not allowed to fly to. Therefore, THAI needs to cancel its flights to those three destinations in Pakistan. Furthermore, THAI adjusted its route for flight TG507 from Bangkok direct to Muscat, not making a stopover in Karachi but for return flight TG508, operated as normal route (Muscat-Karachi-Bangkok) that making a stopover in Karachi.

THAI Arranges Additional Special Flights to Accommodate Stranded Passengers

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) arranged additional special flights to and from Frankfurt today and operated flights to London with larger aircraft on 3 March, 2019, in order to transport more stranded passengers speedily.
Mr. Sumeth Damrongchaitham, THAI President, said that passengers were stranded at Suvarnabhumi Airport after a sudden closure of Pakistani airspace on 27 February 2019. THAI proceeds to transport those passengers to their destinations, details as follows:
1. Arrange one additional special round-trip flight on 2 March 2019 that can accommodate 696 passengers:
- Flight TG9269 on the Bangkok-Frankfurt route, operated with Boeing 777-300ER that departed from Bangkok at 12.00 hours and is expected to arrive in Frankfurt at 18.30 hours (local time)
- The return flight TG9279 on the Frankfurt-Bangkok route is scheduled to depart from Frankfurt at 20.30 hours (local time) and to arrive in Bangkok at 15.15 hours (the following day).
2. Upsize aircraft from Boeing 777 to a larger capacity one, Airbus A380, for roundtrip flights TG916 and TG917 on the route Bangkok-London on 3 March 2019, which will carry 1,014 passengers.
By operating special flights on 1 and 2 March and upsizing aircraft on 3 March, THAI will be able to transport more stranded passengers to their destinations in Europe. Currently, approximately 200 stranded passengers remain.

THAI Resumes Normal Flight Operations to Europe

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) would like to apologize to all its passengers for any inconvenience caused as a result of sudden closure of Pakistani airspace due to rising tension between Pakistan and India situation. THAI is pleased to announce that normal flight operations to Europe is now resumed through airspace outside Pakistan’s.
Flight Lieutenant Pratana Patanasiri, THAI Vice President, Aviation Safety, Security and Standards Department, said that to ensure the highest standard of operational safety, THAI received permission from the authority to operate its flights through the airspace of the Republic of China. THAI’s flights from Bangkok to Europe will be operated as follow:
Day-time flights Thursday, 28 February 2019:
- Flight TG974/ Bangkok-Moscow (flight will be delayed from the normal schedule)
- Flight TG916/ Bangkok-London
- Flight TG922/ Bangkok-Frankfurt

Flight Lieutenant PratanaPatanasiri, THAI Vice President, Aviation Safety, Security and Standards Department, said that Pakistani airspace closed suddenly due to tension between India and Pakistan. Therefore, THAI has cancelled its flights to Pakistan and flights operated through Pakistani airspace on 27 February 2019, as follows:
- Flights TG341 and TG342 to and from Bangkok-Karachi
- Flights TG345 and TG346 to and from Bangkok-Lahore
- Flights TG349 and TG350 to and from Bangkok-Islamabad
Three flights operate though Pakistani airspace today areas follows:
- Flight TG916 from Bangkok-London
- Flight TG974 from Bangkok-Moscow
- Flight TG926 from Bangkok-Frankfurt
The above-mentioned flights were returned to Bangkok and arrived safely at Suvarnabhumi Airport today. THAI has looked after passengers affected by flight cancellations, in accordance to international standards.
Furthermore, THAI has cancelled the following11 flights to destinations in Europe that were operated on 27 and 28 February 2019, in order to maintain the highest passenger and operational safety standards:

On 28 February 2019:
- Flight TG910 from Bangkok-London
- Flight TG924 from Bangkok-Munich
- Flight TG930 from Bangkok-Paris

- Flight TG936fromBangkok-Vienna
- Flight TG960fromBangkok-Stockholm
- Flight TG970 fromBangkok-Zurich
- Flight TG950 fromBangkok-Copenhagen
- Flight TG954 fromBangkok-Oslo
The following flights from destinations in Europe to Bangkok on 27 February 2019 have been cancelled:
- Flight TG911 from London-Bangkok
- Flight TG921 from Frankfurt-Bangkok
- Flight TG931 from Paris-Bangkok
- Flight TG941 from Milan-Bangkok
- Flight TG945 from Rome-Bangkok
- Flight TG971 from Zurich-Bangkok
- Flight TG951 from Copenhagen-Bangkok
- Flight TG961 from Stockholm-Bangkok
- Flight TG955 from Oslo-Bangkok
- Flight TG925 from Munich-Bangkok
THAI is monitoring the situation closely in order to properly assess the situation and plans to operate flights on an alternative route that does not pass Pakistan and is now awaiting for airspace authorization.

THAI passengers who hold tickets on routes affected by flight cancellation may change their itinerary. Fees and charges will be exempted, and conditions apply.
THAI operates flights to three destinations in Pakistan: one flight per day to Karachi and Lahore and four flights per week to Islamabad on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
