THAI Wins Three Skytrax Awards 2018, Including World's Best Economy Class

Thai Airways is honoured to have received three prestigious accolades at the Skytrax 2018 World Airline Awards Ceremony held today, 17th July, at the Langham Hotel, in London:

- World’s Best Economy Class
- World’s Best Airline Lounge Spa
- Best Economy Class Onboard Catering

THAI has been awarded the World’s Best Economy Class tile and the Best Economy Class Onboard Catering accolade for the second year in a row, whilst the Royal Orchid Spa in Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport has been named the World’s Best Airline Lounge Spa for the fourth consecutive year. In addition, THAI is proud to have ranked as one of the 10 Best Airlines in the World, as well as having received the Skytrax Awards for Best Cabin Crew in Thailand and Best Economy Class in Asia.

These awards are a source of pride for everyone at THAI and a recognition of the airline’s efforts to deliver a premium class service across all cabins and a superior flying experience. THAI will continue to further develop and improve its services and products to achieve utmost customer satisfaction.

Mrs. Usanee Sangsingkeo, THAI’s Acting President; Mrs. Phakkhra Ruangsiradecho, THAI’s Executive Vice President, Aviation Business Unit; Mr. Wiwat Piyawiroj, THAI’s Executive Vice President, Commercial, and Mr. Chalermpon Kaewchinporn, THAI’s Vice President, Inflight Services, represented the airline at the ceremony.

The World Airline Awards are the results of the Skytrax survey, first launched in 1999 as the first worldwide, annual independent airline customer satisfaction survey. This year’s awards are the results of surveys conducted between August 2017 and May 2018, amongst 20.36 million participants from 335 airlines. The Skytrax survey evaluates product standards and various airline services on all aspects of service-related excellence, beginning when passengers enter the airport through to inflight service, which includes check-in service, seat comfort and the passenger cabin, inflight meals and beverages, cabin crew service and inflight entertainment system. Furthermore, the Skytrax World Airline Awards is a global benchmark of airline excellence, and is described as “the Oscars of the aviation industry.”
