With the world gradually reopening and travel restrictions being eased, the wellbeing of our customers and staff remains our top priority.
Our special and enhanced measures are aimed at ensuring not only the most rigorous levels of hygiene, but also that your flight with us offers the safety and comfort you deserve.
These are our procedures and recommendations for every step of your journey.
If you are experiencing any coronavirus symptoms or have in the last 14 days, we ask you not to travel or go to the airport. Please follow the latest guidelines set by the relevant authorities at your point of departure as to what to do if you feel unwell. The health and wellbeing of all our customers and staff is our top priority.
Please review and ensure you comply with entry requirements and regulations at your destination as well as the procedures in place at your point of departure and/or transit.
At some airports, masks must be worn at all times, whilst at others it is only recommended. Please ensure you are familiar with the face coverings guidance at your departure or transit airports.
Floor markings or one-way systems at check-in counters, self-service kiosks and around the airport may still be in place to ensure a safe distance between passengers.
Please use the self-bag drop whenever possible to help minimise interaction and allow plenty of time to check-in safely as the process may take longer due to the measures in place.
Hand sanitising and washing stations are available throughout the airport. We recommend using these whenever possible.
Please allow extra time to go through security as there may be extra measures in place, including reduced lanes and extra safety processes.
THAI lounges are operating with adjustments. The Royal Orchid Lounge (International) and Royal Silk Lounge (Domestic) at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport are open with amended hours and enhanced hygiene measures in place. For Star Alliance partner lounges, please check the Star Alliance website.
At some airports, body temperature screening may be conducted, using noncontact infrared thermometers.
Face masks are not compulsory when flying THAI. Should you wish to wear a mask, please make sure it covers both the nose and mouth completely. Masks normally last up to 4 hours, so you should need to bring enough for the duration of your trip and in case you need to replace the one you are wearing.
All our cabin crew will use appropriate personal protective equipment and may conduct body temperature screening, using noncontact infrared thermometers, upon request. This is to ensure your wellbeing and that of all other passengers, so we ask you to always follow their advice.
Hand sanitiser bottles are available in the galley for you to use throughout your flight.
Our aircraft undergo an enhanced cleaning programme, including a disinfestation after every flight and before your trip, and the deep cleaning of 36 touch points across 5 areas: passenger seats, seat pockets, galleys, lavatories and overall cabin. The galleys and lavatories are frequently cleaned throughout the flight.
Cabin air filtration systems, including HEPA filters are available on all our aircraft. HEPA (high efficiency particulate air filters) are very effective at capturing greater than 99 percent of the airborne microbes in the filtered air. Filtered, recirculated is always flowing into and out of the cabin at a rate of around every 2-3 minutes.
Our meal service has been adjusted to minimise interaction. For example, cutlery sets across all cabins are offered in sealed packaging, and bread offering in individual packs. All courses are offered on a single tray and the covered until it is placed on your seat table. Beverages may at times only be offered after your meal is served. Refreshments are only served upon request.
On long-haul flights we will provide with individually wrapped blankets and pillows with single use covers which are disposed of after every flight. All bedding and linen are hygienically laundered. Our Sawasdee Magazine and newspapers are currently not available on board.
To ensure a safe physical distance between passengers, our crew will ask passengers to disembark row by row starting from the back. We ask you to please comply with the advice from the crew.
At some airports, masks must be worn at all times, whilst at others it is only recommended. Please ensure you are familiar with the face coverings guidance at your destination and/or transit airports.
You will need to submit any required documents upon request, to comply with the entry requirements at your destination or if you are transferring between flights. Additional health checks may be carried out by the relevant authorities once you arrive.
