QUARANTINE REQUIREMENTS FOR THAI NATIONALS (HOLDING THAI PASSPORTS)

 


 - Passengers who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 must quarantine for 7 days

 - Passengers who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19 or those partly vaccinated only must quarantine for 10 days

 - Passengers travelling with children must quarantine together for 10 days irrespective of Covid-19 vaccination status

 

Passengers must book their stay at Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) hotels, at their own expense, for the quarantine period. For the list of ASQ booking, please click here.

 


APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR THAI NATIONALS (HOLDING THAI PASSPORTS)


 

Thai Nationals can apply for the Certificate of Entry (COE) through the online application system at https://coethailand.mfa.go.th/. Please allow at least 7 days for the Embassy to process your application.

 

Each passenger must register and apply individually. Parents can apply for their children.

 

COE Application process:

 

- Register and fill in your personal details, and upload supporting documents. The Embassy will screen and pre-approve the applicants who meet the requirements.

 

- Check the status of the application online after 1-3 working days and whether it has been pre-approved. Passengers will be contacted by email if the Embassy requires further documents. Applicants who are pre-approved can then purchase their flight tickets and book their ASQ hotels. Copy of the ticket and the ASQ hotel booking confirmation must be uploaded to get the COE (please check the status of your application after 1-3 working days).

 

- Once the COE has been approved, applicants can download their COE.


 

TESTING REQUIREMENTS

 

 

Please note that although a Covid-19 test is currently not required, the Royal Thai Embassy in London recommends that passengers test for COVID-19 before traveling to reduce the risk of exposure or transmission during travel, as well as serving as a preventive measure against the introduction of COVID-19 from foreign countries into Thailand.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

 

- Travellers from the UK and Ireland must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a vaccine approved by Thailand's Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) or the World Health Organisation (WHO), for more than 14 days.

 

- Travellers under 18 years of age travelling with fully vaccinated parents or guardians, are required to have a medical certificate with a laboratory result by RT-PCR method indicating that COVID-19 is not detected, no more than 72 hours before their travel date.

 

- All arrivals are required to stay in an accommodation establishment that is certified with the Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA) Plus certification.

 

- Travellers must arrive in Phuket on a direct flight as domestic transits in Bangkok are currently not permitted.

 

- All travellers must stay in Phuket for 7 days before they can travel to other parts of Thailand (subject to the applicable testing requirements).

VACCINATION AND TESTING REQUIREMENTS

 

 

- All international arrivals must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for more than 14 days, with a vaccine approved by the MoPH or the WHO. Proof of vaccination must be submitted when applying for a COE.

 

For travellers from the UK, the NHS COVID Pass or vaccination record is accepted as proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Travellers from Ireland can obtain and present the EU Digital COVID-19 Certificate. 

 

- A COVID-19 test with a laboratory result indicating that COVID -19 is not detected (COVID test must be by RT-PCR method), issued within 72 hours before departure is required.

2. A vaccine certificate to proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for more than 14 days before the travel date with a vaccine approved by the MoPH or WHO

4. A Certificate of Entry (COE) issued by the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate

 

5. A COVID-19 health insurance policy with a minimum coverage of US$100,000 for the total duration of stay in Thailand (for non-Thai nationals) or for the 14-day stay (Thai nationals)

 

6. A confirmation of booking in a SHA Plus certified accommodation establishment for no less than 7 nights

 

7. Receipt of pre-payment for the required COVID-19 tests for the duration of the stay in Thailand via www.thailandpsas.com.

 

8. A medical certificate with an RT-PCR laboratory result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected issued no more than 72 hours before departure.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS ON ARRIVAL

 


- Undergo Immigration and Customs procedures

 

- Health screening


- Download and install the alert application as well as always set the application on for the duration of stay in Thailand

 

- Proceed directly to the reserved hotel on approved airport transfer service.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS DURING THE STAY

 

 

- Undergo COVID-19 tests as per the MoPH’s guidelines

 

- Travellers can go anywhere in Phuket (subject to applicable test screenings), but are advised to follow the DMHTTA precautions: D - Distancing, M - Mask wearing, H- Handwashing, T- Temperature check, T - Testing, and A - Alert Application.

- All travellers must stay in the Samui + Sandbox programme for 7 days before they can travel to other parts of Thailand.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION TO TRAVEL TO THE UNITED KINGDOM

 

 

Fill in your Passenger Locator Form up to 48 hours before arrival. You must declare all countries you have visited or transited through in the 10 days prior to your arrival on your Passenger Locator Form.

 

Before departure check the list of red, amber and green countries, as the list can change regularly.

 


Red list passengers (including passengers who are fully vaccinated):

 

 

1. Provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 3 days of departure to the UK

2. Book a managed quarantine package

3. Complete a Passenger locator Form

 

You can only enter if you are British or Irish National, or you have residence rights in the UK. You must enter through a designated port and quarantine in a government approved hotel for 10 days.

 


Unvaccinated passengers or passengers vaccinated with unauthorised vaccines:

 

1. Provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 3 days of departure to the UK

2. Book tests for day 2 and 8

3. Complete a Passenger locator Form

4. Make plans to self-quarantine in private accommodation for 10 full days after arrival (or fill duration of stay if less than 10 days)


 

Fully vaccinated passengers:

 

 

1. Book a test for day 2

2. Complete a Passenger locator Form

3. Have evidence of your vaccination status with you during travel


These measures apply to all persons (including UK nationals and residents) arriving in England from outside the common travel area comprising the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Isle of Man, and the Channel Islands. The British Overseas Territories are not in the common travel area. Public health requirements may vary depending upon in which nation of the UK you are staying.

FOR TRANSITING IN BANGKOK

DOMESTIC TRANSFERS

 

 

TO/FROM PHUKET

 

- At present, passengers must arrive and depart Phuket on direct flights only. Transfers between international and domestic flights to/from Phuket are not permitted.

 

- THAI operates direct flights from London to Phuket and from Phuket to London.

 

 

TO/FROM KOH SAMUI

 

- Passengers travelling to Koh Samui can transit via Bangkok Suvarnabhumi on an approved airline only. Connecting flights on non-approved airlines are not permitted. Approved connecting flights can only be booked as part of your international flight to Thailand; they cannot be booked separately.

 

- THAI operates return flights from London to Koh Samui via Bangkok. You can book your entire journey with THAI, including flights from Bangkok to Koh Samui, which are operated by an airline partner. 

 

 

TO/FROM OTHER DOMESTIC DESTINATIONS

 

Domestic transfers between international and domestic flights (with the exceptions listed above) are currently not permitted.

 

Passengers arriving at Suvarnabhumi International Airport must complete the required quarantine in Bangkok before being able to proceed to other destinations in Thailand.

 

 

INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

 

 

THAI passengers can transfer at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport between international flights when the transiting time does not exceed 12 hours.
