New Checked Baggage Allowances

Baggage Policy (General Service) for Thai Airways International Public Company Ltd.
Effective for ticketing: From 15 October 2022 onward
For travel: From 01 April 2023 onward

General Information
Baggage allowance determination and Checked baggage option apply through checked from the point of departure to the point of arrival without stopover at any of intermediate points. If passenger takes a stopover at an intermediate point, a new assessment of baggage allowance and baggage charge, if applicable, will be measured from the point of departure following the stopover.

Application to Thai Airways International Public Company Ltd.
When passengers travel with Thai Airways for domestic and international flights, passengers allowed carrying free of charge baggage which may include extra charge and subject to the conditions and limitations in THAI regulations.

The piece concept allowance has been introduced by THAI for a journey.
-  A journey within TC3 (Asia, Australia, New Zealand).
-  A journey between TC2 (Europe, Africa, Middle East) and TC3 (Asia, Australia, New Zealand).

High Important

1. When a passenger is involuntarily rerouted to a lower class of service, the higher-class baggage allowance shall be applied even though the refund for the fare difference is made.

2. The exemption from extra baggage shall be applied to any passengers who traveling on the conditions agreed by THAI and Government sector.

2.1. The exemption shall be applied according to the condition on the passenger’s ticket only. By government order or agreement, certain passenger categories may have a free baggage allowance deviating from the regular system. Such amended free baggage allowance is started in the passenger’s ticket. 

3. The condition on the 2nd is applicable to passengers traveling from Thailand only. For other areas/ countries, follow the rules apply by the national carrier concerned.

4. In case of travel on combined services for through journeys where the passenger travel partly on F-class and partly on C-, U-, or Y-class, the free baggage allowance applicable on each sector of the trip shall be that applicable to the class of service for which the fare is paid.

4.1. In case the passenger who has paid F-class fare travels on C-, U-, Y-class, the free baggage allowance shall be that applicable to F-class.

5. Foldable stroller can be loaded in compartment without additional charge.

6. If your journey involves multiple airline partners, please be aware that baggage rule may vary. In case of code-share flights, the carrier performing as the Most Significant Carrier (MSC) determines the baggage rule, will be the Marketing Carrier unless that carrier publishes a rule stipulate that it will be the Operation Carrier.
