Animal voyageant en soute (AVIH)
Ce service permet aux voyageurs d'enregistrer et de récupérer leur animal de compagnie aux terminaux passagers des aéroports de départ et d'arrivée de leur vol. L'animal sera placé dans une soute juste sous la cabine passagers, où il sera en sécurité et dans un environnement à température contrôlée. Veuillez contacter votre bureau THAI local pour connaître les spécifications des cages ou des conteneurs portables pour animaux.
Note:
- Les animaux de compagnie transportés en tant qu'AVIH (Animal en Soute) ne sont pas autorisés sur les liaisons suivantes en raison de quarantaines ou d'autres conditions :
- Vols à destination d'Auckland, Denpasar, Dubaï et Hong Kong
- Vols à destination ou en provenance de Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth et Sydney
- Vols opérés par l'avion A320
- Pour les vols à destination ou en provenance de Londres, les AVIH pesant plus de 32 kg doivent être expédiés via le service de fret.
Pour la sécurité de ce type particulier d'animal, THAI n'accepte pas les 34 races de chiens suivantes en tant que bagages enregistrés. Pour le transport de votre animal en cargo, veuillez contacter directement le département Cargo.

ANIMAL IN HOLD (AVIH)
THAI accept only dogs and cats to be transported as AVIH, other kind of pets must be transported only as manifested cargo under cargo restrictions.
Conditions for Acceptance
THAI will accept dog/cat for carriage as checked baggage on the same flight as the passenger.
- The age of dog/cat must be older than 4 months old for international flight and no restriction on domestic flight.
- Only one dog (or cat) stays in one container except:
- Two puppies or small dogs or kittens are allowed in one container.
- Maximum total weight of small dogs or kittens is 10 kg. /container.
- SNUB-NOSED and some other dog breeds due to their anatomical abnormalities are more vulnerable to changes in air quality and temperature. Their respiratory conditions become worse when flying at high altitudes. Therefore, they are more likely to concerned health conditions (death) on airplanes or at sorting area where temperature can be very hot or too cold. For the safety of these pets, TG will not allow the following dogs breeds to be transported,

- TG may not accept the total weight of animal included container exceeds 70 kg.
- Pet must be healthy and not pregnant.
- AVIH are not applicable for aircraft A320 type.
- AVIH is not included in baggage allowance.
- Charges are applied based on total weight per animal including its container and the direction of journey.
- Pets as AVIH are not allowed on the following routes due to quarantine or other conditions.
- Flight to Auckland, Denpasar, Dubai, and Hong Kong.
- Flight to/from Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.
- For flight to/from London, AVIH exceeding 32 kg. per piece must be sent via cargo.
Within Domestic Journey
The charge for AVIH will be applied to all TG operating flights according to the following table. Total weight included container up to 70 kg.

Note
- The above “AVIH” is effective for travel on/after 02-March-2026 until further notice.
- “AVIH” must be assessed and charged before the passenger board the aircraft.
- The request must be done completely at least 3 working days in advance. Passengers should present at check-in counter at least 2 hours prior to the departure time.
- Passenger must provide a suitable container which used for air transportation i.e., strong leakage proof, clean, disinfected and covered with a layer of moisture absorbing material as the bottom such as wood shavings or sawdust except for hay straw, and suitable for pet to stand, lie down and turnaround in natural manner.
- Passenger must provide sufficient food and water for the journey included transit/transfer period.
- Preparing required documentations for entry, health and /or transfer to countries enroute (No document required for travel on TG domestic flight).
- For purely domestic and travel commencing from BKK, charge rate applies in THB currency. For International, charge rate is separated shown in USD Currency. (converted to the local currency by using the Banker’s Selling Rate on the date of AVIH charged)
