In light of the recent developments with regards to the COVID-19 outbreak worldwide, and as per UK government advice against all but essential international travel issued on 17th March 2020 for the next 30 days, THAI’s continuous focus is assisting our valued passengers during this challenging time.
As a result, THAI is offering passengers departing the UK or Ireland the following two options:
1. THAI will waive the applicable change fee to all existing bookings with travel itineraries up to and including the 30th April 2020 to any of our worldwide destinations so passengers can rebook their travel up to 15th December 2020 as per our Flexible Rules Policy. Please refer to our Flexible Rules Policy Announcement for further information.
2. Passengers holding tickets issued in the UK and Ireland on TG910/11 up to 31 May 2020 and TG916/917 up to 24 October 2020 to any of our worldwide destinations can request a refund in the form of a travel voucher for the value of their current ticket. This is essentially an "Open Ticket" and is valid for one year from the original departure date, up to and including 30th April 2021
Should you wish to choose option 2, the travel voucher, please note the following important information:
a) The travel voucher is valid for bookings made in the UK and Ireland on TG910/11 between 18th March 2020 and 31 May 2020 and TG916/917 between 18th March and 24 October 2020 to any THAI and THAI Smile worldwide destinations
b) Travel can be rebooked up to one year from the original departure date
c) AThe original value will be honored on the same routing with THAI waiving all fees and fare differences. Should passengers wish to reroute or rebook/reroute, the applicable fee will be waived but any additional fare and tax difference will be collected
d) The voucher must be requested before 30th April 2020
e) No Show fees will still apply
f) This policy is not retroactive
g) The voucher is not refundable and non-transferable.
i) If the fare difference for the new booking has a lower value than the original ticket purchased, no refund for this difference will be paid by THAI.
To request your travel voucher:
If you have booked through a travel agent, please contact them directly. We cannot assist passengers with bookings made through travel agents.
If you have booked through our website, please email our Rerservations Team at email@example.com with your airline booking reference so we can assist you.
WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ASSIST ANY PASSENGERS WITH DEPARTURES AFTER 30TH APRIL 2020 AT PRESENT. WE ASK FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION SO WE CAN ASSIST PASSENGERS WITH URGENT REQUESTS.
Please note, passengers who do not wish to rebook or obtain a travel voucher, then the refund fees will apply as per the original ticket conditions.
