Updated baggage procedure for connections to Yangon (RGN) via Bangkok
Effective immediately, Thai Airways has updated the baggage handling procedure for passengers connecting onward to Yangon (RGN) via Bangkok (BKK), due to operational weight and capacity restrictions on the BKK–RGN sector.
Passengers travelling within their standard Free Baggage Allowance are handled as normal, with baggage checked through to Yangon (RGN).
For any baggage exceeding the Free Baggage Allowance, such baggage will be checked through to Bangkok (BKK) only. Affected passengers must collect their baggage at BKK and re-check it in at the Thai Airways counter.
Advance purchase of excess baggage for this connection is not available, including through travel agents or online booking. Excess baggage may only be purchased at the check-in counter at BKK on the day of travel, up to a maximum of 100 kg per passenger, subject to available capacity on each flight. Baggage exceeding this limit cannot be accepted as checked baggage and must be shipped via Cargo.
We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate our passengers' understanding as we work to ensure safe and reliable operations on this route.
