    Sendai is the capital city of Miyagi Prefecture and it is the largest city in the Tohoku region. It’s located approximately 368 kilometers north of Tokyo. Sendai was known as ‘The City of Trees’ due to being surrounded by great numbers of tree and plants. There are many attractive places in an around Sendai with great a transportation system.

    Locate on Mount Aoba and built by the feudal lord Date Masamune. The castle benefits from the natural defences of Sendai and today only the basement survives and it is a great location to see the Statue of Date Masamune on horseback, a symbol of Sendai. This is one of the main spots for panoramic views from Mount Aoba.

    Matsushima Bay

    From Sendai train station take the ‘Senseki line’ and get off at ‘Matsushima Kaigan’. It takes about 35 mins and is one of the most beautiful islands in Japan. Popular with tourists throughout the year, a sightseeing cruise in the bay is one of the best ways to enjoy this area.

    Ginzan Onsen

    Located in Yamagata Prefecture near Sendai, Ginzan Onsen has the Ginzan river cutting through the town. This area was originally developed around a silver mine but on modern times it is better known as one of Japan's prettiest Onsen towns, a popular destination for both Japanese and foreign tourists.

    One of the ‘Don’t miss out activities’ is the ‘all-you-can-eat’ fruit picking tour where visitors can pick a variety of fruits straight from the trees. The fruits available vary with the seasons and visitors get 30 mins to eat what was picked.
